RDA with access to Death Star I vs all the forces of Pandora (Avatar)

A fully operational Death Star 1 materialises into the Avatar universe in orbit of Pandora just as the RDA arrive at the beginning of Avatar 2. The Death Star also has no Imperial crew . Could the RDA figure out how to operate it and use it against their enemy?
