AITAH for drunk texting my co-intern?
So basically, I am doing an internship at a law firm since it is my final year. There was a girl that I liked and I was planning on asking her out at the end. However, due to my impulsive behaviour, I drank a whole litre of beer which I couldn’t handle (my bad ig) and drunk texted her asking her out. The messages were not that disrespectful but just straight to the point for someone I met just a week ago. We went on breaks and had brief small talks together prior to that. I instantly apologised as soon as I got back in my senses and her explicit text was “don’t text me again or I will complain to the HR.”
Since I am a man of my words, I didn’t text her back. However, to my surprise, she did actually complain to the office and I had to constantly explain myself. The office didn’t pursue anything against me but I became a hot gossip conversation in this toxic “professional” environment.
Now I wanted to know if AITA? Personally, I did weird stuff ik but still I believe that mistakes do happen and making a person a punching bag for the same (when he apologised ofc) isn’t proportionate.
