Chasing Dawn 2: Vampire Takes His Girlfriend
Lucy ran through a maze, panting breathlessly. Her bare feet splashing on the bloody floor. She came to a dead end, frightened.
Cornered, she turned around, and screamed as fangs ripped her throat open.
---
Lucy woke with a gasp, panting, clutching at her chest. Jonathan woke beside her, turning on the bedside lamp. He held her in her arms.
“Hey.” He held her close. “What's up?”
“Nothing…” Lucy breathed. “Just a bad dream. I'll be fine. Thank you…” she leaned against him.
“It's alright.” He kissed her neck tenderly, lips feeling her soft skin. “I'll protect you.”.She smiled in response, enjoying the warmth and comfort it brought.
“I just need some water.” She pressed her lips against his in a lingering kiss, then got out of bed. Jonathan watched her leave the room and disappear into the night.
---
Lucy walked into the living room. Her bare feet padded on the wooden floor. She poured herself a glass of cold water, drinking it slowly, cooling her throat.
She sighed, setting the cup down. She began to walk back to the bedroom when she felt something pull at her. She turned around and saw a pale face almost floating, black suit blending with the dark. Her breath hitched.
The figure extended a hand, calling for her. Lucy lost all control of her body and began walking towards him. Her heart raced in fear. She walked towards him barefoot.
He pulled her into his arms, pulling her up, she stood on the balls of her feet. Arched soles exposed. Her chest pressed against his. He could feel her beasts against him.
Lucy whimpered in fear, lips trembling. He calmly ran his fingers through her hair, exposing the side of her neck. He smiled, amused.
“Oh, how I've dreamed of this.” The man spoke. “I had but a tease before, but now I shall have it all.” Lucy frowned, confused. The man smiled. “Ah, yes. You don't remember me. You think it was your boyfriend who embraced you, but really it was me.” Lucy's eyes slowly widened, the horror setting in. “Yes, darling. It wasn't he you had sex with.”
Her stomach sank and she felt sick. Bile rising within her. She wanted to cry. Vomit. But he would not allow it. Instead, he entered her mind.
“Don't lie to yourself…” he whispered into her ear. “You want this… don't you? Danger in your life. More than he could offer. Deep down you feel this way.”
She grew conflicted. Did she? Was this a nightmare? Or a dream come true? None mattered as the man pressed his lips to her neck, her heart racing. Her eyes darted. Jonathan was so close yet so far. Where was he to save her?
The man kissed her neck deeply. Taking in her scent. She was afraid… but he will change that. He tilted her head to the side, exposing her stretched out neck. He bared his fangs and bit into her neck.
Lucy's eyes widened and she inhaled deeply. A sharp gasp of sudden pain. She was his, now.
---
Jonathan glanced up from his phone, sitting up in bed. Slightly concerned from the sound he heard.
“Lucy?” He spoke up. No response came.
---
The vampire sucked on Lucy's neck, taking her blood. His mouth was tasting her. He gripped her body tight, not letting go.
A tear escaped Lucy's eye. She could do nothing but stare dumbly as the vampire sucked her blood. She could feel him sucking her blood, sucking her neck. It couldn't end like this. Her years of life, her accomplishments, just to be swallowed up like this.
Lucy prayed. She begged. For God to save her. She promised she'll go to church. Be a better person. But the vampire continued to suck her blood. Her strength began to fade and she realized… this is how her story ended.
She thought of her family. Mom and dad. How proud they were of her. She thought of Jonathan. Her sweet Jonathan… only a room away. She'll never see him again.
Darkness enveloped Lucy, and the world faded into a void.
---
“Lucy?” Jonathan walked down the hall. “Hey, you've been taking a long minute. I was wondering if-” he stopped in his footsteps. His eyes saw it, but his mind couldn't.
Lucy stood on the balls of her feet, her arched soles pale and exposed. Her arms hung limp at her sides. She was in the arms of another, her head to the side, neck outstretched. A man's face was hidden from view, with mouth eagerly sucking on her neck. Every time he sucked, Jonathan heard the sound of slurping. And swallowing. Suck… swallow… a sickening pattern.
Jonathan stood frozen. Watching. He would have screamed, or ran at the demon killing his girlfriend. When suddenly a man slammed Jonathan to the wall, his arm pressed against his throat. Jonathan struggled, unable to breathe. His eyes met those of a madman. A wild stare. A wide grin.
“See?” He forced Jonathan to watch. “Master drinks the blood of life…” Jonathan winced, helplessly watching the vampire suck his girlfriend's blood. It was too much to bear, and soon he went limp.
Renfield tossed Jonathan aside, returning his full attention to his master.
Dracula pried his bloody lips from Lucy's neck. Two puncture marks adorned her pale skin. The vampire licked his lips, effortlessly carrying her limp body in his arms. He looked down at her with lust in his black eyes.
Lucy hung still, eyes closed, face serene. Two deep holes on the side of her neck. Dracula’s hands gripping her tight.
“Master.” Renfield bowed. “All has gone according to plan.”
“Yes, my loyal servant.” He held Lucy close. “Today, my dear bride shall sleep. But when the sun sets, well…” he looked her body up and down. “That's when the fun begins…” and with Lucy in his arms and Renfield by his side, Dracula vanished into the night.
---
The sun began to rise, rays landing on Jonathan's face. His eye twitched, and he woke with a groan. He sat up, tired. Defeated. Vampires are real… and one just took his Lucy. He sighed, helplessly. Then he ground his fist. He's not gonna let that monster keep her. He's gonna get her back.
