I worry sports appa use AI to learn your weak moments and exploit them?

Properly embarrassing to admit but I've caught myself doom-scrolling the bet slip screen more than i should, and lately i've started thinking the app is clocking me in ways that feel a bit off. the promos feel oddly timed yeah, notifications land right after a loss or when a match gets nervy, coincidence or something cleverer going on?

mostly on FanDuel and the personalised odds boosts and "you were close last time" nudges have got me wondering whether it's just decent UX or actual AI trying to squeeze more out of me. is that actually a thing now, like proper reinforcement models deciding which push to fire after a bad result, or am i just seeing patterns because i'm on tilt?

if you work in the industry or have seen something concrete, what should i look for to tell algorithmic nudging from bog standard marketing? practical stuff as well, settings that genuinely stop the tailored promos, limits that actually mean something, or habits that stop you chasing when the app keeps poking at you. just trying to enjoy the football without feeling like i'm being played mate...!
