a desperate plea: people who live in older hdbs with insect mesh

i live in an older hdb (50 years lease remaining), 4-room flat.

i’ve meshed up ALL windows, no balcony in the flat, and sealed visible holes (eg. the gap surrounding the washing machine pipe, the hole below cabinets that allow water to flow), and even the rubbish chute door is brand new and sealed.

i also have the gap underneath the main door sealed when closed and do not usually open the door except going in and out of the flat.

just saw a lizard this morning and a cockroach couple days ago in the flat. i’m genuinely perplexed if i overlooked any gaps. can anyone who has had mesh fixed up provide any advice on what i might have overlooked? is your experience the same where all possible entry and exit has been sealed but still see pests?
