Crossbow tips plz

Howdy yall im about to start using the crossbow and hand crossbow exclusively until I max out a hunter. Might take an hour might take a week, just inserted in getting good with those weapons. My main question is if theres any meaningful difference between the regular and steel bolts. Also should I bother using regular bolts for the hand crossbow or just use its utility bolts? Any other tips or tricks are appreciated! Thanks!
