why is misogyny so deep rooted in young Indian men? or am I just overthinking it?
I have a male friend. We've known each other since highschool.
We were having a conversation where I vent that I don't really feel the relaxation hit me even though my midterms are done. Because I had a habit of reaching deadlines, being productive so I can't sit idle in the house like I HAVE to do something.
He replies with- "Come at my house, my maid hasn't come today. You said you wanted work, right? :)"
I replied with he should work at his own house and that my cook maid hasn't come today, and so he should come and cook at my house. He pretty much changed the topic after a laugh emoji.
But why are these young men's "jokes" always centred around women being slaves? He's done this shit before and I've told him idc about our friendship and don't mind cutting him off if he's gonna be this misogynistic. His replies are always desperate sorrys afterwards.
I think male friends test the waters. How far do women tolerate the problematic comments they make. Or am I just overthinking it?
