Summer brakes are weirdly lonely
After an awful exam season, which I spent mostly alone and nearly going insane, I am back at home from uni, for the second year now, and I feel weirdly lonely again. I've got a job at a supermarket, which doesn't help my case, because everyone working there is 42, so fun daily social interactions are already out of the window. Which leaves me having to make programs and to organize get-togethers, which is something I've always hated, because it's exhausting and it feels embarrassing and desperate trying to drag my handful of friends everywhere. And even if someone attempts to bring us together, it's ridiculously challenging now. My friends are scattered around the country (not a big country, but it's still a problem), everyone is working or on internships or just doing their own thing. It feels like we are already middle aged with a wife and three kids and it's impossible to meet up.
How do you battle loneliness through summer? Or should I just accept solitude and try to enjoy it?
