Grinding Gear Games refuses to honor POE1 microtransaction purchases in POE2 – Feeling robbed after 13+ years of support
Hello everyone,
I've been a long-time Path of Exile 1 supporter since the beta days (over 13 years).
I purchased numerous supporter packs, skins, stash tabs, and other microtransactions with my hard-earned money.
When POE2 Early Access launched, Game Director Jonathan Rogers publicly stated that everything purchased in POE1 would transfer and be usable in POE2 on the same account (with the exception of hyper-specific items). Many players, including myself, relied on this promise.
What actually happened:
When I bought the POE2 EA key and logged in, the system automatically created a brand new separate profile (CrashBashDE#9968) on my PC account.
None of my POE1 purchases transferred to this new profile.
I was forced to repurchase some of the same items (supporter packs, stash tabs, etc.) just to play comfortably in POE2.
I contacted GGG Support multiple times requesting either:
A merge of my two PC profiles into one master account, or a one-time transfer of all my POE1 microtransactions to my now main POE2 profile that THEY created.
Support's response:
They refuse, claiming microtransaction merges/transfers are only available for players who had separate accounts on console + PC prior to the account system changes. Since both of my accounts are on PC, they say it's "not possible" and point to this announcement:

This feels deeply unfair.
I used the same PC platform the entire time. The new profile was created by their system during EA launch, not by me intentionally making duplicate accounts.
I shouldn't be punished for that.
Key questions that remain unanswered:
Why was a new profile auto-created instead of using my existing POE1 account?
Why doesn't the "same account for POE1 and POE2" promise apply here?
Why can console+PC players get a one-time MTX transfer, but long-time PC players with an auto-created EA profile cannot?
How is this consistent with the public statements about shared microtransactions?
I don't want refunds or special treatment — I just want access to the items I already paid for over more than a decade, in the account I actively use for POE2.
Forcing loyal customers to buy everything again does not feel right.
Has anyone else experienced this exact issue with POE1 → POE2 on PC?
Were you able to get support to transfer/merge?
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.
I'll update if GGG changes their stance.
Thank you,
Crash
