Thanks in advance. i have never purchased a new lens, and the options have me overwhelmed.

First, the background info: i have been using an a6000 with the 2 kit zoom lenses for over 10 years now, mostly due to budget... i prefer to give more away to needy folks than spend on myself.

As i have looked through my last decade of photos, and recounted my experience, i have often found myself very frustrated by a lack of low light performance.

i take a variety of styles, mostly landscape and candid portraiture (my absolute favorite), but i also do some wildlife, architecture, events, and the occasional wedding and portrait shoot. The zooms are nice for all of that, since i am physically disabled. i don't charge for my photo shoots, because i shoot what i like to see, suck at posing people (ASD doesn't help), and because i generally only do shoots for close friends. But, the ones i have don't cut it in low light. And, the 17-50 is definitely not great. My go-to lens has been the 55-210, with most photos on the ends of that. i would definitely like a lens with a lot more reach, but i don't have the budget for that, because a friend needs some financial help getting out of an abusive relationship. So, i am hoping to maybe, at least, solve my needs for low light performance.

Before you ask, yes, i understand the APSC crop factor; my numbers are actual, not with the crop factor.

i am also very aware that in a couple years, or less, my a6000 will no longer be properly functional (a date issue in the firmware, as well as an increasing shutter count). So, i may be forced to switch soon, and a used full-frame body (the a7r models make me drool) might be a replacement... making the FE lenses more attractive.

i also don't care about the weight or size of the lenses. My arms are plenty strong; it's my feet that don't work properly.

Since my indoor photos tend toward 50mm, that one gets on my list. i have also used a 35mm prime on another camera, and liked that a lot, so that's an option. But, i can also see myself getting a lot of use out of an 85mm with a big aperture, especially for portraits. So, that's my ranking: 50mm, 35mm, then 85mm. In addition to the Viltrox lenses in the picture, i have also been considering a Rokinon 35mm f1.8 FE lens. i might possibly be able to afford 2 of these, but it depends on which ones i pick.

The only reason i am thinking prime lenses is for the low light capability. If i found an affordable but sharp zoom lens with good low light capability and a smaller focal range, that'd be a winner. The only reason i am thinking Viltrox for Amazon's Prime day is because of the price. Again, i don't want to waste money on a lens i won't use.

So, my questions:

Are there any other lenses, especially zooms, that i should be considering?

Are these decent lenses?

What insights do you have that i don't know enough to ask about?

Is there a lens i should simply save up for instead, based on my background?

Thanks again for weighing in.
