Facebook appeal stuck on “You submitted an appeal - check back here for the result

My Facebook account has been showing this message for a long time:

“You submitted an appeal. Check back here for the result.”

There has been no update, no email, and no option to submit another appeal. Has anyone faced the same issue? How long did Facebook take to review your appeal, and did you do anything that helped recover the account?
