Precons arrive tomorrow, looking for advice.

Hey all, my precons for beta and gothic arrive tomorrow. My goal is to become familiar enough with the rules that during my trip to see family for 4th of July I can teach my dad and sister. We all play Lorcana, and I am a yugioh/mtg veteran.

What rules are tricky that when you just read the how to are harder to understand? Also what rules just end up making sense when you play, even if trying to parse them from the rulebook is hard?

Any other tips are welcome! Glad to find this game.
