Missing the point of Beggar

Game Discussion

I found this other post but the answer seems to have been redacted https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodOnTheClocktower/s/Uyfo0LyOTe

I might be story telling with travelers for the first time this week. I’m failing to see any real case for the beggar other than if beggar is evil, stating whoever gave them vote was evil when said gift giver is good to throw shade.

Why would a player ever give up a vote to the beggar? Trust chain if good believes the beggar is good? This seems to really hamper goods ability to put up a good number of votes on final 3.

Can someone explain the strategy of the beggar like I’m 5? Thanks
