Portfolio Review
Investment Horizon: 15+ Years
Risk Profile / Risk Tolerance: Moderate to Aggressive
Goal: Long-term Wealth Creation (No specific goal currently; investing with a 15+ year horizon)
Current Portfolio (Lump Sum):
(a) HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund – Growth (Regular): ₹10,000
(b) UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund – Growth (Direct): ₹7,000
(c) Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund – Growth (Regular): ₹7,000
(d) UTI Nifty Midcap 150 Quality 50 Index Fund – Growth (Regular): ₹5,000
(e) Bandhan Small Cap Fund – Growth (Regular): ₹6,000
Future SIP Plan: ₹2,000–₹3,000 per month, allocated across the above funds.
Rationale:
- HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund: Added to reduce overall portfolio volatility while still maintaining meaningful equity exposure.
- UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund: Core large-cap allocation for broad market exposure through a low-cost passive index.
- Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund: Active fund with flexibility to invest across market caps and a strong long-term reputation.
- UTI Nifty Midcap 150 Quality 50 Index Fund: Wanted mid-cap exposure but preferred the quality factor instead of a plain mid-cap index.
- Bandhan Small Cap Fund: High-risk allocation for long-term growth potential, with the understanding that it will likely be the most volatile part of the portfolio.
My objective was to diversify not just across fund houses but also across different investment styles and market capitalizations—balanced allocation, passive large-cap, active flexi-cap, quality mid-cap, and small-cap.
Open to all suggestions and criticism. This is my first self-constructed mutual fund portfolio, so I'd love to hear what more experienced investors would change.
