I have Asperger's, even though....? (M, 39yo)
Hello. (I'm using Google Translate, so the text won't be super grammatically correct).
I've been "different" all my life, I have the vast majority of Asperger's characteristics, but some characteristics are completely beyond me. For example, I read that Asperger's has a problem with reading people's facial expressions and gestures (can't evaluate them correctly). I have absolutely no problem with that. I also don't have the slightest problem with expressing emotions. Not even with fine motor skills, he doesn't have clumsy movements. I have very graceful, as if sublime movements (facial expressions, gestures, various movement patterns during exercise, when dancing, I have "motor intelligence")...
These are my characteristics, based on which I consider myself an Asperger (of course, not all Aspergers have these characteristics, we are not "the same")...
-
I look a little younger for my age, I have "boyish eyes", a high forehead (but a prominent nose, a masculine chin - bone, full lips), boyish charm (but a masculine gait), I look like a sporty thinker/philosopher/mystic.... :D
-
I can't stand pretending (unless it's vitally necessary), pretending costs me a huge amount of energy and I refuse to do it. I despise people who "fake" their feelings during communication (fake laughter on the phone, etc., "out of politeness").
-
I LOVE THE TRUTH, I HATE "SWEET LIES". I am spiritually based (no religion), anti-natalist and gnostic "in one"
-
I need to sleep alone in bed, even alone in the whole room.
-
I have various sexual fetishes (including scat...), I am a bit bisexual (I am turned on by the penis on a man, otherwise nothing else). But at the same time I have been doing "semen retention" for years :D
-
I am a strong introvert, I can make friends quickly, but I am simply not interested in spending time with people... If I sometimes go to visit my grandfather (the whole family meets there, but we are a small family, about 7 members), I am tired of communicating with them - I am overwhelmed with information and I absolutely hate it when two conversations are going on at the same time at one table.
-
Visiting bars, discos, etc., immediately drains me (that's why I stopped doing it in my 20s)...
-
When I start something (some hobby), I go all out... For example, I have such an elaborate physical exercise (with various exotic instruments) as almost no one in the world...
-
I don't recognize hierarchies, I'm "outside the mainstream" in practically everything.
-
I hate noise, the clanking of plates "sores my ears", reflections of light (in darker rooms, I have no problem with reflections OUTSIDE on a sunny day) from metal objects or from a mirror can cause me a "migraine with aura"...
-
I squint a little in one eye (aspergers/autists squint much more often than people who are not aspergers/autists), always have. Even two surgeries in childhood didn't help (but now I'm dealing with it with special exercises and brain work - because it's a brain problem)... I think THIS is the reason why I break eye contact. In fact, I crave deep eye contact. BUT NOT WITH ANYONE. Only with a partner (whom I don't have).
-
I can't do a job that doesn't fulfill me. I can't have colleagues because spending time with people I'm not interested in is a GIGA-exhausting activity for me.
-
I'm not interested in owning a car or driving (and I DON'T have attention deficit disorder).
-
I'm not interested in becoming a parent, I'm not interested in living together with a partner (but I am interested in a relationship, but maybe seeing each other 3 times a week for X hours).
-
I have a highly developed musical ear (I composed some short pieces of music for four instruments on the keyboard, and I don't know notes, chords, and I was limited by the fact that I started composing before I even learned how to play the keyboard correctly...), but I stopped composing music because I'm a perfectionist and would never finish a piece (there would always be something to improve).
-
I HATE cleaning rooms, cleaning clothes - that paralysis of whether to put them in the washing machine or not yet, evaluating... (but I don't have a problem with body hygiene, I wear clean clothes, I shower regularly - BUT it's true that when I'm unwashed, my body odors are pleasant and calm me - ALL my body odors).
-
I have my stereotypes and when I have to break out of them, it's hard on my psyche (I don't have the spontaneity of "I'm ready to go anywhere anytime during my free time", because I have a fixed schedule of eating, exercising, working, etc.)
-
I HATE sarcasm
That's probably all I can think of right now....
What do you think, I have Asperger's, EVEN THOUGH (as I wrote above) I am emotionally inclined and can express my feelings without inhibitions, I have a talent for movement and I can "read" people's non-verbal communication very well? They say Aspergers can't detect sarcasm/irony... I know it PERFECTLY. I don't use sarcasm and irony myself because I hate it.
