GPU is wobbly after shipping. No display/peripheral signals with it in but pc works fine with it removed.
As the title says, I shipped my pc across the country as I was moving. Upon arrival, I inspected it and the gpu was loosely seated in its pcie slot. There was, what I am assuming to be a standoff screw, loose in the box with which the pc was shipped. I tried re-seating the card but this (link below) is the furthest I could get it in without exerting excessive force and it remained wobbly, even with the back screwed in. Later on I noticed the metal backplate of the GPU, where the display ports are, was not properly seated and needed to be pulled outwards by a pliers or something similar, before being screwed in. This worked to make the card firm, however, still no display.
Some things to note:
-
There is no clicking sound into the pcie slot as there was before.
-
Upon removing the gpu, the pc boots fine through the igpu.
-
Likely not a display issue since it doesnt even post peripheral signals after booting (mouse rgb doesnt go on, keyboard keys dont light up).
-
GPU fans spin and seem to be working alright (normal boot sequence as before, but no signal)
-
Only one pcie slot in the mother board.
Some things I have tried:
-
DDU drivers uninstall
-
Reseating RAM, GPU and every cable going into the motherboard.
-
Changing wall outlets used.
-
Removing and reinstalling the PCIE locking clip.
I suspect the problem is either with the PSU, Power difference in the new area, PCIE slot or the card itself. As of now, finding a repair shop is pretty much impossible as I am miles away from the city. I would have otherwise taken the pc in, so they could replace each 'suspected' faulty component until they found a culprit. I dont have spares which I could troubleshoot with either. Right now I am looking for advice on what I could have missed, or what else I could do other than troubleshooting each specific component. The computer is an old m32 series asus with a m32cd4-k motherboard. Here is a link to the picture of the standoff and the issue with the card: https://imgur.com/a/y5qcOH9
Thanks!
