* With permission from Swedish photographer Anders Lattermann, based in Stockholm, Sweden, I’m sharing his hands-on experience with the Godox MF-T76 macro flash here.
* Anders is an exceptionally experienced photographer with a strong understanding of lighting, composition, and real-world shooting conditions. I believe his thoughts may be helpful for anyone in the community who is interested in macro photography or considering this new flash.

*Godox recently introduced a new macro flash, the MF-T76, and I felt it was the right time to upgrade from my old macro flash.*

*My previous macro flash was very basic. It only had one fixed power setting, so I had to control exposure mainly by changing the distance to the subject or adjusting the aperture. That worked, but it also made the shooting process quite limited.*

*The MF-T76 gives me much more control. In manual mode, I can adjust the flash power directly, and it also supports TTL, which allows the flash to automatically adjust the output when I want a quicker and more flexible setup.*

*In both manual and TTL modes, I can also adjust the ratio between the two flash heads. That means one side can be set stronger than the other, instead of always having the same amount of light coming from both sides. For macro photography, this kind of control is very useful because even a small difference in lighting direction can change the whole look of the subject.*

*The two flash heads are also very flexible physically. They can be moved around the front ring, almost like the hands on a clock, and each head can also be angled separately. This makes it much easier to shape the light and avoid the flat look that can sometimes happen with direct front lighting.*

*Another feature I find very useful is the modeling light. Both flash heads have adjustable constant lights, which is helpful for video, but also very practical for still photography. It allows me to preview the direction and feel of the light before actually taking the photo.*

*One of the strongest parts of the MF-T76 is how well it fits into the Godox flash system. It has the built-in 2.4GHz Godox X wireless system, so it can work together with other Godox flashes.*

*It can be used as a receiver and take commands from another trigger, but it can also work as a controller and control other Godox lights while still being used as a macro flash itself. This makes it much more than just a simple twin-head macro flash.*

*The display is the older black-and-white LCD type, not a touchscreen. Personally, I did not find that to be a problem. The layout is very similar to other Godox products with this kind of screen, so it was easy to understand and set up.*

*The cables between the main unit and the flash heads are permanently attached. This has both advantages and disadvantages. It makes the unit a little less compact when packing, but I also think it improves reliability.*

*Detachable cables and connectors can sometimes create small glitches or contact issues, especially with equipment that is moved around a lot. So in this case, I think Godox made a reasonable design choice by keeping the cables attached.*

*The flash heads can be removed from the front ring, which helps make the kit easier to pack. The front ring snaps onto an adapter ring that screws into the filter thread of the lens.*

*The kit includes eight adapter rings, from 49mm to 77mm, so it should fit most lenses I would realistically use for macro work.*

*Compared with my old vintage macro flash, the larger central opening is also a big improvement. Many newer macro lenses have larger front filter diameters, and the MF-T76 is much easier to fit onto those lenses.*

*For the flower image, I used an AD200Pro II with a snoot to add side light onto and into the flower. The AD200Pro II was controlled by the MF-T76, while the MF-T76 also provided direct front light with both macro heads set to the same power.*

*The setup was very simple, and it was easy to get the result I wanted. For me, this is where the MF-T76 really shows its value: it works well on its own, but it also becomes much more powerful when combined with other Godox lights. ------***^(Anders Lattermann)**
