Is GIPE Pune worth it?

AskPune

CUET results came out recently. I got 394/500 (English and GAT). That might get me into GIPE's Bsc Economics and Data Science programme. That was my target programme for the past year. I also got into the same programme at Shiv Nadar Chennai and was preparing to go there because I didn't think I'd get in.

Now, the people I've been asking say that Pune's culture is too much (show off, drugs, drinks, sleeping with everyone). I am 17F from a Tier-2 city in Tamil Nadu. I'll have to take an education loan to join GIPE, we are not rich enough to comfortably afford iphones or buy stuff for the trend. I don't know Hindi or Marathi but I'm confident that I could learn in a few months.

I was studious at school. Never dated anyone because it was already stressful. I'm not really affected by peer pressure, I have stayed away from everyone during my high school years because I didn't like the gang. I feel like I could manage there. SNUC is too much inside my comfort zone and Pune is way outside.

TLDR: My parents don't want me to move to Pune solely because of the culture. I don't want to miss out on a college like GIPE just because of the rumours. Is it worth it to struggle for this?
