Starter Gamepad Character Builds
Fairly recently I've gotten to the point that sitting at the computer is just no longer an option for any extended amount of time. When my wife got a second Steam Deck for me, at the time I thought it was, neat, but not needed. Fast forward to now and not only is it my exclusive gaming outlet, but we got them last year, before things went extra mad.
I play more old games on this thing then I do new ones at this point, and I was replaying Diablo (DevolutionX) and remembered they added controller support here. So, an evening of learning Lutris and here I am. The level of polish on this is insane, but getting to the point:
I've always been a casual enjoyer of the older Diablo games. They're my comfort food. I'm pretty terrible at them, and don't nearly push as efficiently as I should. Guides talk about items with tele charges and this and that, and I just roll a fishymancer with whatever I find until I decide to try something else through normal and nightmare.
My main concern here is pretty much the same as I'm experiencing in Diablo I: Targeting. Melee just doesn't seem to be that viable, which sucks because I was kind of looking forward to trying the D1 Barbarian, even if the meta is to become a nerd. Half way through my first run as a machine gunning rogue and that seems much more manageable.
Diablo II is a little less freeform, and I probably could squeak by on a summoner, but curses and corpse explosion might get tricky. Outside of that, I have some experience on elemental zealots, but not much else in recent memory.
TL:DR disabled games seeks recommendations for characters that are easier to pilot on a gamepad.
