S26 base vs S25+ for gaming?

I'm on a budget and am looking for a phone that's a bit quicker for gaming. I have an A35, and it's constantly overheating and crashing during gaming, and am considering the S26 base and S25+. I'm wondering if S26 is significantly faster? I'm in the U.S. and both would have Snapdragon. I know either would be better than what I have now, but just want to be sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck.
