Canon powershot V1 gear

Hi friends!
I’m new to reddit and this subreddit. I recently bought a Canon powershot V1 and need to purchase a flash. I’ve seen that the Godox flashes need the ae-d1 shoe adapter for the smaller Godox flash. But recently I went to a camera store to ask and they recommended me the Godox iT30 pro flash. Does that still require the adapter at all??
