Gpu fan issue

Tech Support

So I have a rtx2070 super ASUS blower card. I’ve just bought it. It was having heating issues hitting 86-87 degrees, but not thermal throttling at 88°c

So I did the thing and replaced thermal pads and gave it arctic mx4 thermal paste.

When I boot the pc it goes full speed on the fan as usual. But then in windows that fan does not spin at all and I’m not talking about 0 rpm mode.

I’m talking when benchmarking it goes straight to 90°c (thermal throttle) I know the fan works because i have seen it work since the restoration I’ve done on this. However I can’t find a way to disable 0rpm mode and manual fan control though “fan control app” has no effect. I’m kinda lost here as I’ve never seen this before. I believe it is a driver issue potentially but I’ve tried to reinstall drivers to no success.

I have multiple computers and I am having the same issue with the same card. It just makes no sense that the fan spins on boot but then doesn’t in any computer in windows.

I’m not sure what’s going on here.
If anyone knows what it could be please share
