How do you improve on the *actual* test?
I am currently crashing out thinking I will never go to law school. My PTs thus far have been :
151 - Diagnostic July 2025
153 - 2nd test end of April 2026 (started studying mid-March)
155 - 3rd test May 30th
151 - fourth test (today)
Took a practice test this morning. Got -14 (FOURTEEN?) on RC. I got -6 on my previous PT.
LR was terrible too. -8 and -11.
My drilling accuracy is WAY higher than I do on actual tests. My previous PTs I maybe get 75% accuracy on the questions I actually attempt. In drilling, it’s 85 and recently more like 90% accuracy. I have gone 15, 20, and even 25 questions in a row with no mistakes. But for some reason on actual sections I do terribly (I guess time or pressure???). I know I need to focus on improving generally. Some people probably think I focus too much on the numbers, but I truly am focused on getting better at the test. But is there a point? Clearly (no in the LSAT world likes that word lol) my studying is meaningless? Should I try a different testing service? What am I doing wrong? I guess I went too fast but I did not even finish the section!! I got to like question 21-22 on both LR sections.
Am I just dumb? I was not tired or sick or whatever excuse people like to tell themselves.
How do you people go up 15 pts in even like 4,5 or 6 months? That is INSANE. I feel (I know you people will say otherwise) that I have WAY better understanding of the test than I did in the past. Most questions in drilling I immediately understanding and get it in like 45 seconds. Levels 4 I consistently get right in 3 minutes and often less.
I would be thrilled with like a 163…
I would like to take the test this fall to go in next cycle. My goal score is not that far off (low to mid 160s). Should I register for the August test? Can I even expect the improvement I am seeking over the next 3ish months?
Thanks. Thought I was smart, guess not lol 😭
