Main plot episodes are very low quality compared to standalone ones

Hi, I just finished season 9 and honestly the main plot episodes are just a fake suspense building of something that never changes the series. Everything always resolve itself in a christmas 90s movie way, they are not all trash but most of them. Alex Krycek is written like ass, annoying as fuck. He just plays in every possible team of the show without actually doing anything in the end. I don't understand why he doesn't get killed or cut off. He always appear and he does random stuff. Don't hate on me I love the show, I'm just fed up of how the main plot is treated like a third league 80s show.
