Anyone young and childless and had surgery?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some information about surgery for a rectocele or rectal intussusception performed before the age of 30, and without having had children?
My story: I was diagnosed with IBS-C, then chronic constipation. I was told it was a "female issue" and that I just had to live with it 🙃. Then diagnosed with musculoskeletal back pain, pelvic floor hypertonia, and of course mental health issues bc God forbid women's health is taken seriously.
My symptoms include: difficulty fully emptying my bowels, a sensation of heaviness and pressure in the pelvis, pelvic pain, back pain, and pain during sexual intercourse. I am already undergoing pelvic floor physical therapy, but my symptoms aren't improving significantly, though my bowel movements have improved slightly
Has anyone here had surgery for a rectocele before the age of 30? What was the experience like? Did it affect your sex life, fertility, or ability to have children?
