first at fault swipe

Heya, I messed up this morning and did not clear a parking space as well as I should have, and ended up scraping my car and denting it. The truck was completely fine and the owner didn't want to sweat anything and I think it's probably a bad idea to get insurance involved and I should just pay out of pocket instead, don't want the premium hike or a bad carfax.

A shop quoted $3000, I'm not sure if it's a fair price or not which is why I'm hoping reddit can give me some guidance here 🙏

Since this is an insurance sub I don't actually know how this stuff works or goes, so I'm wondering how much the insurance would go up if I put a claim in?
