Do your babies burp while eating?

Me and my lo is still very new to trying to breastfeeding and right now he doesn’t get a deep enough latch. He had a severe tongue tie so our journey for breastfeeding before now didn’t quite work well so I just pumped and did everything I could for him. Since it’s been 13 days since his tongue to has been clipped I went ahead and started trying maybe 4 days ago. Today I was breastfeeding him and he burped himself while on my boob, is this normal? Also tips for a deeper latch would be great.
