Xanax issue with Pharmacy

My doctor gives me Xanax, he understands I have anxiety. He gave me extra last week and the chemist dispensed it. My normal dose was due today but the chemist wouldn’t give it to me. He said they have to get permission from my doctor! I explained the others were just extra for the summer and the other dose is my normal supply. Nope, he said he will “email” my doctor and “hopefully “ my doctor replies soon! I now have to use my emergency supply because of the chemist. Annoying. Ugh. I’m in Ireland,
