American thinking about the way other Americans say the word Orange
I understand people saying it Or-unj. I understand when people pronounce it Or-inj with the little i sound. I understand people saying Or-anj. Hell, I even understand when southerners cut out letters and pronounce it Ornj or Arnj like it's one syllable. But what accent causes certain people to pronounce it Or-Eenj? I've heard it a lot in American kid's programming because I'm a mom, and Kids YouTube is like 90% of the mind-numbing stuff played in this house. I've heard it from people of all races, is it like a Midwestern/West Coast thing? Am I missing where extra Es or Is were smuggled into the word somewhere?
