I Built an Open-Source Guide to Practical LLM System Patterns

If you’re building LLM applications and have wondered when to use keyword search, embeddings, rerankers, metadata filtering, or vector databases, this repo is for you.

I’ve been documenting practical LLM system design and engineering patterns with simple Python examples. It covers topics like hybrid retrieval, reranking, batching, context management, evaluation, LLM-as-a-judge, and other production-oriented patterns around LLM applications.

The goal isn’t to document every possible technique, but to present practical ideas in a simple way so developers can better understand how real-world LLM systems are built.

I’d love feedback from the community. Suggestions, discussions, issues, and PRs are all welcome. If you find it useful, feel free to fork it, contribute, or give it a ⭐.
