Is it common for men to have a physical type for both their platonic and romantic relationships?

Seeking Advice

I (44F) and married (44M) for 17 years. My husband is a very social and outgoing person with both men and women. Something I am curious about is I have consistently noticed over the years my husband is drawn to friendships (usually colleagues or keeping in touch with old school friends-not exes) with women who share a lot of my physical traits, including one former colleague who other people thought could be my sister. Other common traits are our interests and educational attainment levels.

While it makes perfect sense that people would form friendships with others who are similar to them (my husband is also well educated and has similar interests as these women), I find the fact that there are so many close physical resemblances that it is making me a little insecure. This is not something I have seen a lot of people talk about in contexts like mine where I have no indication of infidelity. My husband is very present at home and doesn't care if I see his phone, email or letting me know who he is with and when and where. His contact with these women is very infrequent such as a yearly coffee checkup or occasional messaging on Facebook, etc. I have met these women and don't get weird vibes.

For men who have noticed they tend to gravitate toward a physical type in both their romantic and platonic relationships, what do you think that means for you?
