I can’t stop thinking about this FROM theory

I honestly think this is the single most viable theory about the show I have seen so far.

For a quick summary:

• The Talisman Math: The talisman shows two adults and eight children/branches, but we only ever see seven Anghkooey kids.
• The Real Target: When the kids appeared to Tabitha and pointed, she thought they were pointing at her to go to the caves. In reality, they were pointing at Ethan, who she was holding. Ethan is the missing eighth child.
• The Broken Deal: The theory suggests that in a past cycle, the original versions of Tabitha and Jade backed out of a ritual sacrifice to save their child. Because "you don't go back on a deal," the townspeople who complied were turned into monsters, and Jade/Tabitha are trapped in a loop of reincarnation until they finish the job.

It completely explains why the voices told Sara to "kill the boy" all the way back in Season 1, and why the Boy in White is so cryptic, he knows the town won't accept a solution that requires murdering an innocent kid.

If this turns out to be true, it’s going to absolutely tear the town apart when the other residents realize sacrificing one kid could let everyone go home.
