Not settling back into life in Ireland. What to do?

Moved back two years ago after over 10 years in Canada. Partner still can’t find work. I’ve been working since we moved back but can’t see how we can make it work here. If he does get a job he would pretty much be starting on just above the minimum wage. We are living with family so very lucky to be able to do that but thought we would at least been in a position by now to be looking at properties. Kids are settled and worried about having to uproot them again and starting all over. Life just feels harder here and worried we’ve made a huge mistake. We are really not enjoying Dublin.
Interested to hear from anyone that moved back and felt it wasn’t the right move. Did you stick it out? Kids are 11 & 9.
