The dreaded biopsy

I’m scheduled for an endometrial biopsy and SIS next month. I am post menopausal, never had kids. My doctor told me all I’d need is ibuprofen. I’ve heard enough horror stories to know this is not true. I’ve been messaging the nurse and she said we could do a cervical block, and oxycodone. I just asked about intrauterine lidocaine and am waiting on a response. My preference is to not take the oxy, as pain meds make me extremely nauseous.

Has anyone done this with a cervical block and intrauterine meds? How did it go? Short of full anesthesia, does anything work to control this pain?

Also, how long did this procedure take?
