IITM BS MSE/CHEM
Hello all. So for context, I am a dropper who wrote iat 26 and expecting a BS chemistry or Medical science from IITM. Since its a BS degree (though it is offline with just a total of 86 seats in both branches combined) will there be a discrimination between BS and Btech students?
The thing is I've also taken the online BS degree and in my diploma level now. I joined it cuz i genuinely love that subject. I am aware of the recent hate towards BS students. Here are some things I want to clarify,
- I get that BS students created a lot of chaos and made things difficult for the residential students. But, as a BS student myself, I have also experienced stuff like this from my own batch. I really understand your hate towards us.
- I have not stolen anything, nor harassed anyone during paradox. (instead i got stalked by a guy but thats another issue). I have come to paradox, to attend workshops and definitely not cause any trouble.
- I could never compare myself to actual btech students who cleared jee adv (hats off to yall), I know it is an easier way to IIT while competition in jee adv is crazy high. but i genuinely want to learn from an elite institution and upskill my skills and all. im really sorry ik its unfair.
If i want to socialise with the btech students or other students, will i be hated? does btech students look down upon the offline bs medical science or chem degree students too? I know i sound paranoid but considering all the chaos going on, i wasnt sure how my social life would be...
can anyone from btech or the bs medical or chem dept please answer? and also im getting iiser pune in the early rounds itself.. is this degree worth doing or i join iiser pune?
have a nice day yall :)
