Convince a romance-skeptic to watch "My Dearest"
I keep seeing everyone rave about My Dearest, but almost every recommendation focuses heavily on the "epic romance" and the sweeping love story.
Here’s my dilemma: I am not a big fan of romance. Well, if the script focuses entirely on romance and sacrifices the logic of the story, it’s not for me.
If a show relies entirely on shipping characters, misunderstandings, and pining to drive the plot, I usually get bored and drop it.
I prefer historical grit, high-stakes survival, political intrigue, and strong character development.
Is this drama actually a massive historical epic that stands on its own, or will I be bored out of my mind by the romance? Convince me why a non-romance fan should give this a chance. No spoilers, please!
