Failed transmission
I'm the original owner of a 2019 CX-3. My transmission is failing at 41,000 miles. My warranty expired in 2025.
I took the car to the dealer to be diagnosed. They confirmed the transmission issue and indicated it would be $8000 to replace the transmission. The dealer referred me to the Goodwill Assistance program for Mazda USA and indicated Mazda has frequently assisted with the repair cost.
Mazda USA has told me they won't provide any goodwill Assistance as I didn't service the car at a dealer. I live in a rural area and the nearest dealer was a 2 hour drive away. All scheduled maintenance was done on time and I have documentation for it. My family owns 3 Mazdas and the idea that we aren't "loyal" customers because we didn't commute to a dealer seems ridiculous to me.
I've tried to get someone at Mazda USA to review this decision but the customer service line simply told me the decision was final and refused to put me through to anyone else.
In speaking with several mechanics, a transmission failure at 40, 000 miles likely means a manufacturing defect. I've gathered this isn't an isolated incident and I've heard Mada has assisted others who are outside of warranty. I bought this car based on Mazda's reputation for reliability and I'm devastated to be dealing with this issue.
I'm wondering if anyone can suggest people to contact at Mazda to review this decision or other suggestions on how to get assistance for this repair. Thank you
