I need to find somewhere to live near my work, but I have zero credit and I can’t find anyone to use as a guarantor.

Me and my gf are moving hopefully next week, but we’re in a messy situation with finding housing.
My job starts in a couple of weeks and I’m not able to find any apartments that will accept me as an applicant due to having zero credit (I’ve never opened a credit card or paid my own loans before) and any and all my family members and friends either doesn’t want to be my guarantor or they have terrible credit.
Meanwhile, my gf is an international citizen that’s here on an H1B working visa.
I just feel so fucked right now and completely lost. I don’t want to let my job know, because I’m worried that my contract will be pushed back but my end date of my contract will stay the same.
I just really regret not opening credit cards and shit back when I was still in college a couple years back.
