all right, I'm hanging up my man hat. 😀

this is my 2002 Suzuki bandit 1200 S, and i'm at 4600 feet elevation.. here's my story.

I cannot get it to run great. I have a stock air box, I just got a new air filter from Amazon specific for this bike, and I have the stock air box lid. To my knowledge everything on the bike is stock, except for the slip on muffler. Yoshomira RS-3.

When I first bought this bike about two months ago, it did not have an air filter or the air box lid, it was just the open box. it didn't have any carburetor boot clamps, or airbox clamps. The jets inside the carburetor were 145 main, 60 slow/middle/needle jet, 40 pilot. it started idled and ran, but not the best. The crazy thing was, it pulled like a freight train after 6000 RPM, the perfect mix of vacuum leaks and too much fuel made it a rocket. This is my goal, on what I want the bike to go back to yet properly. it seemed to rev just find in neutral and bounced off the limiter healthyish, again, weird perfect mix.

About a week after i got it, I got carburetor clamps, new fuel, and I rode it for about 100 miles and during its fully warmed up, I could not floor it, it was bogging and hesitating high end, I think I was at like half throttle trying to get it as fast as I could go (middle of desert, literally nobody around, not even cows)

And I could get it up to about 100.

After my trip home, I ripped apart the carbs again, Deep cleaned it, and while i was there, learned it needed smaller jets. (145 is huge, 102.5 is stock)

The spark plugs were black (they are original 🤣), the exhaust was really rich as well, so with a little bit of research and tinkering I got the main jets to 130, and I went on eBay and bought a lid. It ran significantly better, had decent pull, freeway power, but the low end was still really rough. my 0-20mph was like 4 seconds, and i can say it runs better when cold then when hot. I don't have to use any choke to start it, just a blip of throttle.

fast forward after I've been using it around for a bit kind of just dealing with it, the air filter finally came in the mail. I slapped it in, and then it was running really rich again. I could only rev it up to about 7000 RPM, even in neutral!! knew the 130 was too big for the new airflow, so i put a 110 in, and it seems okay above 5k rpm. Below is where it really struggles.

it is extremely gutless beneath 2500 RPM, to the point where I'm literally trying as hard as I can to get it going and people are still honking. Then, it takes off like a two-stroke. Still a little weird and hesitation kind of sounding like a misfire sometimes below 5000 RPM, but it's better than the beginning.

I am currently running
main: 110
slow:60
pilot:40
2 turns out.

Stock carbs, Stock airbox, Airfilter, Slip on RS-3 Muffler at 4700 altitude.

in the video I provided I showed the weird bogging when it's heated up in low RPMs, and I showed me revving it showing the weird misfire sounding thing. I have four new spark plugs and all of them shocked me good so I know they have spark.

Does anyone know about these bikes or jetting??? To my knowledge stock is 102.5, slow 60, And pilot 37.5 at 3 turns out. I'm lost,, all and everything you can is deeply appreciated
