Gravcore obtainability post game
I really hope that the devs will change the fact that grav cores are basically unobtainable post odyssey main quest, it is pretty strange to punish the player for beating the scenario by cutting off the supply of one of the most important item required to expand and upgrade your gravship
I understand that you are expected to finish upgrading your ship by the time you choose to assault the mech hive, and you can theoretically get more gravcore from quests and even loot boxes in odyssey structures, but the chances are way too low to guarantee a reliable source, say if some raiders manage to destroy some of your gravfield expander and you did not get your gravcore back, your ship is effectively crippled, also it just doesn’t make sense how it is interfering you with using the gravship long term and if anything, rimworld players are very much concerned about the long term management of their base, by giving ways to obtain gravcores reliably
I propose that: make the loot boxes more abundant in space locations, most of them just have less than 5 of boxes, and only like 5% of the time it will contain a gravcore, I hope that they should make so that each harder location(mech hubs etc) will contain like a dozen chests, and I think it also just encourages player to explore more of the locations which is the core premise of the dlc. It also just justifies the effort to clean out those locations as now they are virtually worthless
Or, make so that you can still get gravcore quests occasionally after the main quest, i think it is the most straightforward fix
Or just give the player the ability to renewably get gravcores as an ability to get them, be it a gravcore drop command for the cerebrex node or you can unlock the recipe if you choose to destroy the brain
