Calm Classroom Music That Helps My Anxious Students Reset
Some of my students get overwhelmed, and calm classroom music plus a quick breathing moment has become our reset.
When the room gets tense I put on calm classroom music, a soft rain over low brown noise, and we follow a short guided breathe together. It is not therapy and I am careful to say so, it is just a small calming routine that helps everyone come back down. The gentle sound gives them something steady to settle into. After a minute or two the class is ready to work again.
A breath and a soft sound resets the whole room.
I use an app called Mindael because it has a breathe guide alongside the layered sounds, so I can run both from one place. Mindael loops the sound with no seam so the calm does not break while we breathe.

A short reset beats pushing through the tension, and Mindael makes that easy to lead. How do you help a class calm down mid lesson?
