Just opened my first bank account. Can I not buy things online until the card arrives?

I opened a new bank account today and they said they would mail me the card on Monday. The account is active and I deposited money in there. Can I not use this money until my card comes in? They always ask for card details to complete a purchase so I was wondering if there was a way around that. Or can I just not use my money until I get the card?
