Dad here, first baby coming, wife sent to hospital at 39 weeks due to high blood pressure. HELP.

Labor & Delivery

Me (29m) and wife (26f) were sent to the hospital yesterday morning at about 9am, due to my wife's elevated blood pressure at a check up. Stress was a major factor. After getting to hospital, and being checked in, getting sat in the labor room, they started cytotec with plans to administer every 4 hours, up to 6 times. At about 6pm, they administered the balloon and it broke my wife. She was in pain for about 8 hours before they finally took it out. Over those 12 hours, they gave her Magnesium by IV to help lower bp, aswell as another blood pressure medication that the name escapes me, administered 3 times now. The bp wasn't going down (assuming its because my wife was in pain). Her BP finally went down, and has been good for about 14 hours now. The hospital has only been administering the cytotec, but my wife has yet to go past 2cm dilated after all of this. Her cervix hasn't been check in 5 hours, and now her IV with the magnesium just blew.

Please just ease my mind. Tell me everything is going to be okay. Tell me these folks know what they're doing, because im lost. I want to advocate for my wife but I dont know how. Shes in pain, and we are getting nowhere.
