I made my first $200 selling a digital product with no audience.
I wasn't sure if selling digital products still worked in 2026...
A month ago I uploaded my first product to Gumroad with pretty low expectations.
No audience.
No email list.
No paid ads.
I honestly thought I'd get zero sales.
Instead, it ended up making around $200 in its first month.
Not life-changing money, but enough to prove to myself that strangers will actually pay for something I made.
The biggest surprise wasn't the sales.
It was realizing that creating the product was the easy part. Figuring out what people actually wanted took much longer.
If I could start over, I'd spend less time designing and more time validating the idea before building anything.
I'm still learning, but now I'm focusing on improving one product instead of constantly jumping to the next idea.
Curious... has anyone else here started selling digital products this year? What's been the hardest part for you?
P.S. While building mine, I organized all my notes into a free beginner resource (launch guide + 100+ AI prompts + organic marketing blueprint). If it'd be useful, just comment "launch" and I'll send it over.its completely free
