AITAH for breaking up over text?

**AITA for wanting to break up with my boyfriend over text?**

I (21F) have been dating my boyfriend (22M) for about five months. The first couple of months were honestly great. We saw each other almost every week, we both made plans, and he was really good about communicating. He even asked me early on about my boundaries and what I was comfortable with, which I really appreciated.

Over the last couple of months, though, things have felt really different. I feel like I’m the one making most of the plans, his texts have become a lot more dry, and we haven’t seen each other in about six weeks even though we only live around 30 minutes apart. I’m usually the one driving to him or we meet halfway, he’s never really offered to pick me up.

He still does nice things occasionally, so I don’t think he’s a bad person, but I just don’t feel the same effort or excitement from him anymore. I feel more like I’m trying to keep the relationship going than we are doing it together.
I’ve thought about talking to him about it, but at this point I honestly feel emotionally drained. Part of me feels like if someone wants to see you and be with you, they make the effort. Another part of me wonders if I owe him one direct conversation before ending things.

The reason I’m considering doing it over text is because we haven’t seen each other in weeks, and I don’t know when we would next see each other in person.

Would I be the asshole if I ended the relationship over text instead of waiting to do it face-to-face?
