SSA phone crew

Micromanagement at SSA has reached a new level.

Managers are reportedly being told they’ll face consequences if they push back on new directives. In field offices, employees are being questioned about putting themselves in a break status on phones when they step away to use the restroom.

To make matters worse, we’re now being told we can’t put our phones in “wrap” after a call to finish documenting the interaction before going on break. Instead, we’re expected to complete call notes and close out cases during our break time.

This doesn’t improve customer service. It creates unrealistic expectations, encourages off-the-clock work, and destroys morale. Employees deserve to be treated like professionals, not monitored every second of the day.

Is anyone else at SSA seeing the same thing in their office?
