best way to get waiver approved with chronic pain, accommodations, and anxiety history
I am an engineering student and D1 athlete hoping to apply for the Navy CEC Collegiate Program. I have a history of AMPS (Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome) that is technically disqualifying under DoDI 6130.03. I have been completely symptom free and off all medication for two years, but do have an extensive history of trying meds and nerve blocks. Additionally during a high stress semester in college I utilized temporary accommodations for situational anxiety/pain which have since been formally terminated. I am currently performing at a high level in my engineering coursework and Division I swimming with zero accommodations. I am building a binder of medical evidence to proactively address the inevitable medical disqualification. How can I best frame my transition from a past diagnosis to my current D1 athlete state of functionality to show that I am fully fit for service?
