Was I wrong for finally matching someone’s energy after months of subtle disrespect?
I’m not sure if I handled this the right way, so I wanted to get some honest opinions.
There was someone in my life who constantly made subtle comments that felt disrespectful. It wasn’t always direct insults, but more like little remarks in front of others that slowly built up over time. I stayed quiet for a long time because I didn’t want to create drama or seem overly sensitive.
Over time, it started affecting how I felt in conversations, and I could tell it was becoming a pattern rather than a one-time thing. I tried ignoring it, changing the topic, and even just laughing it off, but nothing really changed.
Eventually, I responded in a way that basically matched the same energy they had been giving me nothing extreme, just a calm but direct reply that made them realize I wasn’t going to keep brushing it off.
