Looking for safe dog spots

Hi! I am a female in my 20s who has just rescued a small dog. I’m looking for areas that are safe to walk and run my pup on my own. Ideally I’d like to let him off leash but his recall isn’t the best so fenced would be great. I worry about my safety when we’re alone in the evenings and at night.
