Did you try to change your custom boot picture, and now your console is completely frozen on an **R36S black screen on startup**? Do not panic! Your device is not broken.

Many people ask **how to fix r36s black screen**, so here is a very simple guide to get your console working again in 2 minutes.

# 🛑 Why did it crash?

Most of the time, the **r36s black screen after boot logo** happens because of the picture file itself.

When people wonder "*how do i convert jpg to bmp?*", they just use a random online converter. The problem is that the R36S is very picky! Normal converters change the picture, but they leave hidden junk inside it (like transparent colors or hidden camera details). The R36S cannot read this hidden junk, so it just gives up and crashes (giving you an **r36s black screen after arkos** or an **r36s black screen after logo**).

*(Quick Note: If you have a* ***game console r36s black screen with sound****—meaning you can hear the background music but the screen is off—that is a different issue. That means your screen driver file is wrong. This guide is for when the console is completely quiet and frozen).*

# 🛠️ How to fix it right now

If your console is stuck, it is super easy to fix:

1. Take the OS SD card out of your console and put it into your computer.
2. Open the small folder named **"BOOT"**.
3. Find your custom `bootlogo.bmp` file and delete it.
4. Put the SD card back into your console. It will turn on normally again!

# 💡 How to make a safe logo (My Tool)

Next time you want to make a custom boot picture, you need a special **jpg to bmp image converter** that makes a 100% clean image (exactly 640x480 size, 24-bit colors, and zero hidden junk).

Because normal converters keep breaking our consoles, I built a free, simple tool just for our community to fix this exact problem:

🔗 [**Loney.tools - JPG to BMP Converter**](https://loney.tools/jpg-to-bmp)

**How to use it:**

You don't even have to type any sizes. Just click the drop-down menu and pick **"Anbernic / Trimui / R36S Boot Logo"**. Upload your picture, and the tool will automatically clean it up and make the perfect BMP file. Drop that new file into your BOOT folder, and your console will never crash again!

Hope this helps someone out!
